Shipping policy
Shipping & Delivery
Selected Tile ships orders within the United States only. For shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada, or other international destinations, please contact us prior to placing an order so we can review availability and provide a custom freight quote when possible.
Shipping Methods
Shipping method is determined based on weight, size, and order volume:
• Small shipments (generally under 75 lbs and under 12 inches in size) may be shipped via UPS or FedEx.
• Larger or heavier orders are shipped via LTL (less-than-truckload) freight on a pallet.
Selected Tile reserves the right to determine the most appropriate carrier and shipping method for each order.
Freight Deliveries (LTL Orders)
• All LTL deliveries are made to the curbside.
• The freight carrier will contact the customer to schedule a delivery appointment window.
• Each tile box may weigh between 35–85 lbs, and pallets can be very heavy.
• The customer is responsible for:
o Being present at the time of delivery
o Arranging sufficient labor to unload the shipment
o Signing for and accepting the order
Inside delivery, jobsite carrying, and white-glove services are not included unless quoted in advance.
Inspection & Damage Reporting
At the time of delivery, customers must:
• Inspect the shipment against the packing list
• Check for visible damage
• Note any damage or shortages on the Bill of Lading (BOL) with the driver present
• Take clear photos of any issues
Any damage, shortage, or incorrect shipment must be reported to Selected Tile as soon as possible and no later than 72 hours after delivery, with photos and BOL notations.
After the 72-hour reporting window, the shipment is considered accepted as delivered and may no longer be eligible for freight claims or replacements.
Missed Deliveries, Refusals & Carrier Fees
If a delivery is missed, refused, or cannot be completed due to customer-related issues (including incorrect address or lack of personnel), the freight carrier may apply additional fees such as:
• Redelivery charges
• Storage fees
• Reconsignment fees
These charges are billed by the carrier and are the responsibility of the customer.

Ordering & Lead Times
All orders ship once the full order is available and ready to be dispatched from our warehouse. Orders that include products with different availability timeframes will ship together once all items are in stock.
In-Stock Orders
- In-stock tile orders typically ship within 2–3 business days after the order is placed.
- Our primary warehouse location is New Jersey, and most LTL freight deliveries transit within 3–7 business days, depending on destination and carrier scheduling.
Custom & Special Orders
Lead times for custom and special-order products vary based on:
- Production schedules
- Manufacturing timelines
- International shipping conditions
- Customs clearance
- Port and freight congestion
All lead times provided are estimated and may change due to factors outside of our control. While we make every reasonable effort to meet or improve estimated timelines, exact delivery dates cannot be guaranteed.
Multi-Warehouse Transfers
In certain situations, products may need to be transferred between warehouses before shipping. We may cover internal warehouse transfer costs so that you are charged only one outbound shipping fee. These transfers may add an additional 7–10 business days to your order timeline.
If you prefer separate shipments from different warehouse locations, additional shipping quotes can be provided upon request.
Order Preparation
Once products arrive at our warehouse, please allow up to 3 business days for order inspection, palletizing, and preparation for LTL freight pickup.
Customer Measurement Responsibility & Overage Recommendation
Customers are fully responsible for providing correct measurements and quantities for all orders. We strongly recommend ordering 15–20% additional material to account for:
- Cuts
- Layout pattern waste
- Breakage
- Installation adjustments
We advise confirming all quantities with your installer prior to placing your order.
If additional material is needed after the original order is placed, availability cannot be guaranteed, and additional lead time and freight charges may apply. Ordering insufficient material is one of the most common causes of project delays and increased costs.
